I've recently changed to an iCloud email as my primary and am slowly moving away from Gmail. I have both accounts set up in the default Mail app and while there's options under the Gmail account to choose where to move discarded items, the same menu doesn't seem to be available under iCloud so I'm stuck with Trash rather than Archive.

Is there a way to change this that I'm not seeing? The only workaround I've found is to press and hold the Trash icon which then brings up the archive option but without 3D touch, that takes way too long especially when working with multiple emails.

I have an Archive folder on all of my iCloud accounts by default. Instead of looking in the "all mailboxes" view, scroll down that same page and look for your iCloud account and tap the down arrow. That should show you all the subfolders; archive should be listed.

Swipe right? On my setup, I'm seeing an Archive option.
Swipe right I have configured as Mark Read/Unread. Swipe left shows Trash, Flag and More which brings up the full action menu with archive in it but that takes just as long as pressing and holding.

I'm not having trouble finding the Archive folder. I'm looking to change the behavior of the bottom left button for my iCloud account. This is what shows on a Gmail message (customizable within Settings):
