I have a lot of apple products and love them all. However, I have come to hate MobileMe. Not only do I get a ridiculous amount of duplicate contacts and cal events, it will mix up information from multiple contacts. I am considering changing my calendars and contacts to google(for syncing). Can you guys tell me any problems I my have with using google for this?

I will be syncing my calendars between an iPhone, iPad, and iMac.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a gmail account?
If so, sync both your mobile me and google accounts. Give it a try. If you don’t like the gmail account you can always keep mobile me.

I've experimented with Google Sync for quite some time and I must admit it works pretty well.

Problems that I found, if I remember correctly:

- Google contacts won't accept more than two phone numbers.
- Contacts added from Google Contacts won't have the correct Country set on your iPhone. This is due to the fact that GC only use one unique field for the address compared to separate fields (street, ZIP, City, Country etc.) of MM.
- Google Calendar appears on the iPhone with the colours all mixed up. The web is full of tweaks that you can use to make the colours match.

All in all, no big problems and again I think Google Sync is a very good service. Eventually I've always gone back to MobileMe. I like the tight integration with Apple products. Also, I still value privacy and prefer to be a customer rather than a product to any corporation :)
