Is it possible to change my @icloud email? Sounds like a fairly straightforward question but the number of different answers out there would indicate otherwise..

Anyway, here's the scenario:

I have an apple ID/account which uses my primary email; myname@myprovider.com.au. This email is used for my Apple ID, iTunes, Apple Music etc.

I also have an Apple iCloud email, crappyaddress@icloud.com. This email is not used as my Apple ID sign in.

Now, I want to get an iCloud email address I'm happy with. Where do I go to change, edit, delete or whatever the hell I have to do to change this email address?

When I log in to iCloud and go to Mail it appears that my crappyaddress@icloud.com is already in there, and there's no way of changing it. Settings also is a no go from what I can see on iCloud..

Sometimes the easiest things you want to do turn out to be the most frustrating..

Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance..

Once created, you can't change the @icloud.com email address

Thanks bcave098, that's a very succinct reply..
You could make an email alias under that existing account and use the new name you want. Then you could send and receive email under that alias and have a similar end result.

Login at icloud.com and look in the mail settings to make the alias.

That's the way to go. I never use my main iCloud email address--but use the two aliases I created all the time. Works the same as your main address and easy to change.
