iPhone Change icon of BiteSMS?

is it possible to change the icon of BiteSMS to something like this?

is there a way to change the name of the app through iexplorer?

also another question how do I set biteSMS as my default messaging app? do I just go to the settings of the stock messaging app and turn off everything? (imessage, mms messaging, group messaging)


also is there a way to change the color of the bubbles? (i've checked out the diff themes on biteSMS but don't really like them that much)

What about adding a pic from your camera roll as a wallpaper? Is that possible? (I know about adding themes)

So i changed the icon but is there a reason why the icon is smaller than the other stock icons? Here's a pic

Yes it is.
You need to put the icon in the vars/stash/Applications.DWWFor/biteSMS.app
Look for icon@2x.png and replace it with your icon, just make sure and rename it to icon@2x if it's not already.

1) Not sure how to in iExplorer but I know it would involve editing plists. Download Icon Renamer. It's Free, iOS 6.1 compatible, and really easy to use, it's how I have mine renamed to Messages (And my Google Chrome as "The Web")

2) In the biteSMS settings, go to More -> Hide Messages App. This will stop the system from using the Messages app and use biteSMS as the default.

3) To do that you'd have to create your own theme.

4) Probably because the dimensions of the icon aren't matching up. The icon needs to be 114x114 px.

3. :( I was hoping there was an app/tweak, oh well. Is it easy to "make your own theme" I found this site http://www.codethemed.com/

4 I can't get the resolution to 114x114, it keeps switching to 114x116. Currently it's at 118x120 though... So i'm not sure why it would look smaller than the others. Is there another file I have to change besides icon@2x maybe?
 
For theming if you go under biteSMS and choose Documentation under developing themes you can get instructions.

As for the icon, take it into Photoshop/GIMP etc. and see if you can resize it?

downloaded gimp and resized it, but it seems like it is still smaller than the other icons. Any other ideas?

by the way I checked the stock biteSMS icon and its 118x120. I re-sized my image to that but it still looks the same.

off topic but does anyone know if the "popup" in the QC/QR window is supposed to let you choose a photo from your library? or do you only have the option there to take a new photo?

The size that you were using in the image with the red biteSMS in your dock, please.

Also, when you were using iExplorer, did you go into Root and then the var folder, not vars? I'm unable to find a vars folder and locate the icon2x file.

okay, it's 118x120, I'm still not too happy with the size diff between the app, hopefully I can figure out how to resolve it

I don't see a vars folder, I only see a var.

to put it as my icon I followed the instructions below

Yes, you can change it in infoplist using iFile.
/Applications/biteSMS/Info.plist – look for the 3rd or 4th line that reads display name.

Change the name within the quotations from bitesms to Messages.

Save it and respring.
