In the "gallery" view in Finder, files are displayed at the bottom of the screen. Clicking on one displays a large preview in the main portion of the window, which is great. However, the outline color for the file selected at the bottom is a muted grey (or as I like to think of it, dirty dish washer). In every other view in Finder, the item selected is highlighted in a striking blue color. How can I get this blue color for the gallery view? The current default grey makes it hard to see which file is actually selected, and I have lost my place as a result.

Thank you.

Short answer: you can't.

If you need to go through file previews, then you can use other methods (which, in my view, are more convenient than the gallery view):

-Enable the Preview pane (Cmd-Shift-P) and use any other view (list, icons, or columns),

or

-Enable Quick Look (for example, select a file and press space), then go through the desired files in any Finder view.

Thank you for the reply. I should have looked for the preview option. While not as good as gallery view, it at least is a feasible workaround for the time being. Perhaps this is something that will get ironed out in Sequoia.
