Heeelp!!
Hi everyone guys.
My friend give me a gift for Christmas, your MacBook Air that he used when he went to University school.
I am using the mac with his user.
Is there a way to remove the property of the university to create a simple system administrator? Thank you so much 🙏🏼

Have you tried creating a new User (with Admin) and then logging in to that User and deleting the old? Copy any files you want on the new user before deleting though.

Check in System Preferences to see if there are profiles configured. That would indicated there is a management profile installed for the university. The next challenge is finding out if the Mac was configured through Apple's Device Enrollment Program (DEP), and if it was did the university remove the Mac from that program. The Mac should really be wiped and the OS reinstalled to set up for you as any software on it possibly belongs to the university.

I misread the initial post, I thought he meant he got it from a friend who used it for University LOL...That'll learn me lol.

Thank you for the answer..
How can I check if the University remove the Mac from that program ?

If the laptop has university management restrictions, your friend probably was not authorized under current laptop set up to give you the laptop. He should have returned the laptop to the university so that they could remove him from the laptop and then determine the best course of action for the laptop.

Sounds like you have a laptop you shouldn't be in possession of.
