New to mac in general; finally made the swap! Loving it so far.

I purchased the new Macbook Air for school, and an Apple TV that goes alongside it. I'm in Canada, but I have a way to get USA Netflix (MUCH more good shows & movies) as long as it's through a computer, so I mirror my Air and play it through the Apple TV.

Only problem is; I can't find a way to do this without leaving the screen on / open. Ideas?

You don't want to run video on a modern laptop while the lid is closed because of heat damage. It would be better for cooling if you got a little stand to lift the Air off the desk. This would ideal to keep the Air running cool.

You can wake a sleeping/closed macbook with a bluetooth mouse or keyboard if you have another display connected to it. Of course you could also just turn the brightness all the way down, and then close the lid only partially so that it doesn't go to sleep.
