Hope someone might be able to help me out here.

I just changed *MY* contact name on my iPhone as I have another contact with the same name.
All I did was just change it to my nickname, no big deal.

In the process though, it also changed my email name to my nickname.

I've tried to search and followed the steps on how to change your email name.
Gone into my email account, which is a me.com/icloud account (in case that matter??)
In my email account, under preferences and full name, the information is correct.

But when I send an email, the displayed name is my nickname.

Is there a way to change my contact name in my iPhone and NOT change my email display name?

thanks

It's not your email "display name" - it's not being sent to the email recipient. It's being displayed on your iPhone, because the contact name on your iPhone is correlated to your email address in that same contact. If you have a contact containing a name, phone number, and/or email address, those apps will substitute the name for the email address or phone number. If they display an email address or phone number it is because there is no contact containing that email address or phone number. It works this way for Mail, Messages, Phone, FaceTime... any app that accesses your Contacts.

If the recipient of that email has your full name (rather than nickname) in their contacts (and they're using an Apple product or other computing product that matches contacts to incoming addresses/numbers), they will see your full name, not your nickname. If they do not have your email address in their contacts then they will see the bare email address.
