Changing account details on icloud

How do I change the account details on icloud to another name. I delete the name, type in a new one and the deleted name comes back. This is For account details.

Just to clarify - are you trying to switch to another icloud account, or changing a username for an existing account (as far as I know, you can't do the latter)?.

Also, which device are you trying to make the changes through?
