iCloud Changing Apple ID's & First time AppleCare+ on new iPhone

Hi everyone,

If I setup a brand new iPhone with an Apple ID, is that ID connected to it in the sense that I can only activate AppleCare+ with that specific ID?

Let's say I don't setup AppleCAre+ right away since I have 60 days to do that and after 30 days format the phone, sign in with a new Apple ID and then only add AppleCAre+ to the new Apple ID.

That would work correct?

AppleCare+ goes with the device. Your AppleID has no effect on the coverage.
