I'd like to change the opening "TaDa" music when booting to some bird chirping that I've recorded. I have the birds in iTunes. Is there an easy way to edit out a few seconds of chirping and then use that as the boot sound? Late 2014 27" 5K. Thanks.

The startup tone on Macs is hard coded and can't be changed.

Yep, the boot chime can't be changed.

You CAN silence the boot chime, then use your "bird chirping" as a login item that will play at about the time the desktop appears. That would not replace the boot chime, but would give you sounds later on in the bootup sequence.
