Changing Driver to standard pc

Hey I want to change my computer driver to Standard PC from ACPI Multiprocessor but everytime I try and its looking for my drivers in its new driver the screen locks up or I cant move my mouse and keyboard which then I have to reinstall windows. Here is what I am trying to change it to

Only thing I can think of is have you tried it in safe mode?

Also, why do you want to do it?

I tried safe mode but even in safe mode my mouse or keyboard wont work. And i want it for a game.
