iPod Changing firmware?

I bought my dad an 80gb ipod recently and I own the 80gb ipod that is slightly thicker than the current one. He has different firmware in his. For example the main menu shows pictures of the album covers of his music. Mine has older firmware in it. Is there any way to update my firmware to his?

I'm guessing he has the newer Gen 6 classic iPod. I don't think its a firmware issue, I think if you want the album cover thing you need a new iPod (I could be wrong).
