i downloaded an app from the Appstore (Dots Free), and when i try to change the icon.png, it shows up different than i made it.
im using the same icon for all of my apps, but the one on Dots Free is darker and smaller when i SSH it to my iphone. any idea why?

Just a heads up, if you try to manually replace the icons of AppStore app icons, you will break the app and it will no longer open. You can't replace app icons manually unless you do so using Winterboard.

i've changed my theme (using Let's See as a base), so i don't need this information for myself at the moment. i still can't figure it out, though..

i did change the icon, and it still worked. i just can't get it to look the same as the other icons.

There's a setting in the Info.plist for each app called "UIPrerenderedIcon" which can be either true or false. Try changing that. (If it's true, change to false, if false, change to true.)

I guarantee that if you manually changed this app's icon permenantly, and it is an app from the App Store, it will eventually break and will not longer open. Just a matter of time. Plus, everytime this app gets an update, your icon will be erased.

I can back this up. Happened to me. App Store app icons are checked somehow. Only way to change them is with WinterBoard.

2 days later, and the app's still fine.
how long did it take before yours stopped working?
