Is it possible to change an Application icon, but not the theme? I have jailbroken my iPhone but still prefer to use the default iPhone theme.. I know how to change icons for other themes (such as those downloaded via SummerBoard), but since I'm not using specific theme folder it doesn't seem as easy as just replacing the appname.png.

Using Fetch (FTP) on my Mac I was able to connect to the iPhone, copy over the app itself, view the contents and change the icon.png file, but when I sent it back over to the iPhone the app didn't work. (I tried it specifically with Apollo IM).

Is there another way to do this?

what you did it exactly right, you need to replace the icon.png file inside the application and respring (the step i think you forgot). install respring from installer and launch it for UI changes to take effect (alternatively you can use the restart function built in summerboard)

or you can download ThemeBuilder.app off installer then use SSH and put the icons in the icon folder and build a quick little theme for Summerboard that only changes the icons. Then you could just switch in and out of that.

Seriously it only takes like 2 minutes

I guess I must've forgot that step (although I thought I did it) because i went back and now it worked.. go figure...
