Changing order of files within Folder

Alright...so with my recent switch from pc to mac I've noticed that I can't rearrange files within a folder to my liking...only by name, size, date, ect...

I've overlooked this annoyance for some time now...but it's becoming quit irritating now that I'm copying ipod playlists to folders...

is there anyway to change this so I can manually drag files to where I want them?

Maybe in Icon View (Command + 1), but not in List or Column View or Cover Flow (Command + 2 or 3 or 4).

Were you able to do this in Windows or whatever OS you come from?

No, Windows Explorer doesn't allow this, either.
