iPhone changing phones (both jailbroken)

So long story short - my wife hates iOS7 on her 4S. I have a 5 32gb on 6.1.2 with Evasion jailbreak. I bought another 5 on ebay (64gb), 6.1.2 jailbroken with evasion and I'm going to take that one and give my wife my current phone. I'm going to run ilex RAT on both phones but then need to restore the content to each device. Can i backup each phone to our respective computers first then restore from backup to each phone (not new firmware obviously). Is this the easiest way to setup the devices (aside from cydia tweaks) without losing the jailbreak? any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think you can do a restore from a backup on a jailbroken device I think it will throw it into save mode and make you update and restore, your best bet to replace the info is through I cloud

if you have no clue please don't post...

You can restore backups fine on a JB device. Problem is Apple won't allow a backup from a higher firmware (ios7) to restore to a lower firmware(6.1.2)
If your wife has a backup from ios6 she can uses that, ofcourse some data will be lost.

or you can sync and later put back the info through the tabs in itunes. txts will be lost this way though.

make sure you backup you photo's and important info properly somwhere else.

@trijet thanks for the info! is there a way to extract the sms.db from a backup (iOS 7) and use ifunbox/ifile to put it back on the new device? All her games/data should be restored with gamecenter and the tabs in itunes right?

iBackupBot can do that

The problem is that it won't work. The SMS.db is meant for iOS 7.0.3 (or whichever version you are on) so if you use that on a 6.1.2, it just won't read it and wipe it clean

Same goes with updating. You drag a 6.1.2 to a 7.0.3 and it won't work. The only way I got it to work is backing up and restoring from iTunes and get the updated SMS.db

Of course, it isn't possible in your case unfortunately since you need it downgraded, and not upgraded

I'm not sure to be honest. Someone a while back had a 6.0.1 SMS.db and dropped it in a 6.1.2 iPhone and it didn't work.

Not sure if the database changes every iOS version of not
