Changing phones on iOS14

My iPhone X has broken while on the beta program, so I'm going to be transferring phones at some point in the near future. I have a minor concern that when I try to restore from the iCloud backup, it won't work because the new phone would be on iOS13.xx and this backup is on the iOS14. Has anyone been through this before and is it possible to do?

1. Setup the new phone as a new phone.
2. Install the developer profile onto that phone and update to ios 14
3. Reset all settings and data on phone and you will be promoted to Restore from icloud on reboot.
