I've got a 16" M3Max (16/40) and it definitely runs warmer than my 16" M1Max. If I'm just browsing the internet and doing boring tasks it's Ok, but if i start doing something that requires a little bit of oomph, it warms up quite a bit more than the M1Max did. I'd like to be able to run the fans at a low speed to keep the laptop slightly cooler, and usually use istat Menus to manage a better fan profile. I wasn't able to get the fans to turn on at all using istat Menus though. TG Pro has a similar issue. TG Pro has a message in their menu that says "Fans turned off by hardware". Based on what I read in the TG Pro documentation - it seems like unless the system/laptop/hardware decides that laptop is "warm enough" it won't let TG Pro or istatMenus start the fans. My M1Max didn't do that - I was able to have the fans running based on the temp even if it was lower than the system would kick them on. Is there anything I can do to enable the system to have the fans come on earlier?

I'm running TG PRO and in settings set the fan speeds to manual and can drag the sliders to any speed I want.

It's not about what speed the fans are set to, it about the fans being enabled so they can turn on. I see this at the top of the menu:

Even if I have the fans configured to set to 2000RPM when any sensor is >40 degrees celcius, until the laptop gets 'hot enough' for the hardware to enable them, TG Pro can't do anything about turning them on. I don't know how hot it needs to be before it will let the fans come on, but it's definitely above what I want it to be.

They also list this in the FAQ:

Although the m3max doesn't appear to be listed.
