Every time I type midtones it auto changes it to midtowns if I do not click the little x. I just checked System Preferences > Keyboards > Text, though I do not see an option for changing/eliminating the suggested word. How is this done?

Thanks.

What app are you typing in?
Once you get it typed correctly, then use Spell Check. There should be an option to "add to dictionary" or something similar.

It would sure help if you told us which application is giving you this problem.

Sounds to me like you have an "autocorrect" option selected somewhere in your preferences settings. You have to track that down and DEselect it.

I don't like being auto-corrected myself. I turn this stuff off and make my own mistakes and live with them ;)

Text Edit, I just checked and I see an option to turn on or off Text Replacement, though nothing about how to customize the words used...
