hi, i bought a macbook and did the migration (which by the way moved EVERYTHING even tho i only wanted my ituneslibrary migrated) and the name of the guy whos old g3 i bought i want to change.
not the one for log in or when u do software update
but the one that shows on the left in finder.
how do i change that.

its pretty annoying having his name on my brand new laptop

hmm so the user name cant be changed?
oy
so how can i reboot up the laptop to factory settings.
and more importantly just migrate my music folders
i really didnt want all this old g3 stuff moved

Yes, the username can be changed. That whole document is about how to do it.

Personally, assuming you haven't rally added anything I would just create a new user account and delete the old one, it's much faster. However, if you have already put time and effort into the current account you should work your way through the document to change it's name.

hmm ok
i just want my old itunes library on the new mac, thats it.

i made a new account but it wont let me delete the old one, the - is greyed out

update:
ok i think deleted the account.
now how do i move JUST my itunes music to the new cpu?
is it really this convoluted?

also, how do i delete the users home folder?
when i went to delete the user account, i clicked Ok instead of DELETE IMMEDIATELY

it SEEms i deleted that account BUT, hard drive space seems odd.
out of 74.21 i have 45.7 left?
is that right, just over half space out of the box??

also does ANYBODY know how to move my songs from my old cpu to this one?
