Figured it would be good to have a thread to post actual test results from charging setups... be it Charging Block/Cable combos for wired quick-charging, or Block/Qi Pad combos for wireless quick-charging.
I use a Kill-a-Watt power meter to track Wattage delivered to the device... giving us a real world number as to how quickly certain devices are charging our phones.
I'll kick it off with this setup:
Pantheon 10W Qi Charging Pad - $15 on Amazon
Metered Power Delivered: 5.9W
This setup includes a 10W capable Qualcomm 3.0 Quickcharge Charging Block, and a short (3m?) USB to USB Micro Cable.
Next up:
Vinsinc 3-Coil Qi Charging Pad - $15 on Amazon
Metered Power Delivered: TBD (Claimed max of 5W)
This setup does NOT include a charging block, but does include a flip up stand to set the device at an angle. If the 5W Cap is indeed the case, it seems like this provides poor value.
For consistency I will test all Qi pads with the same 10W block, and then a 30W Block to eliminate the block as a limiting variable.
I'm curious if the 6W is a current limitation by Apple who will upgrade it to the claimed 7.5W in the future, or if that is a limitation of that hardware.
What charging wattage draws are folks achieving with other setups?
