i know some are waiting for the Belkin dual lighting adapter. But figured I would share what I did and I have wired jack now.

What you will need.

Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter - http://store.apple.com/xc/product/MK0W2AM/A

USB External Stereo Sound Adapter - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IRVQ0F8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_yf15xb6EA9JST

You can see where this is going.

It works, 100% and while I know it's pricey, I already had the adapter for my PRO.
Here is a video of it working

Does the mic input work? I can see using this to record separate audio when creating videos. Also does the headset work for talking during a phone call?

Thanks for the tip by the way ;)

Nice work.

Here's a follow up question ... can you plug a male-to-male USB power cable into the USB port, and charge via that cable, leaving the Lightning port to function as a passthrough for the 3.5mm adapter?

Does the Lightning port even work as a passthrough for the 3.5mm adapter? My HDMI Lightning adapter does not allow Lightning audio to passthrough, though my Lightning dock does.

I think you will need to add one of these to use the a headset mic:
