so i was out driving around last night and i had my mbp with me...only bad thing was is the battery had about 40 mintues left on it. Where are some good free places to plug it in *coffee houses hotels etc...... anyone got good ideas

Libraries, Starbucks, Panera, local coffee shops (although some of them are sometimes pissy about this).

Aren't there some car adapters to charge your MBP with?
For that matter, go for any inverter rated at >85 W.... this connects to the cigarette-style charger ports and then provides a three-prong (or whatever) household-style plug. And you can plug in whatever you want into it.
what was pretty cool was i parked my car outside some random house last night and i got perfect internet it was my battery that gave me problems cause it was almost dead

dont get a cheap one though. It will reek havoc on your power adapter.
