I was wondering if anyone has successfully taken the drivers for the iPhone on a windows XP machine and used them on a windows 2000 machine? I don't want to use iTunes or anything as it is not supported in 2000, but I'm stuck with this work PC and I would like to use it to only charge the phone when it gets low. Also if this has been done what files should I copy from an XP machine to transfer to the windows 2000 machine? I would think this would be simple, but I searched and found nothing. Can anyone help a newbie out.

Do you really need drivers if all you are going to do is charge the iPhone? Weird. I'd try plugging it in with the USB cable, ignoring the "I don't know what to do with this device" (if you get one) message, and see if the iPhone charges,

By the way, unlikely XP drivers would work in 2000 if you went that route. They might...but normally not a good idea to try.

Yea I pluged it in and it says "new device found, iPhone" but it looks for drivers and finds none, and the phone never goes into charge mode. :(

You think it could harm the phone?
