When I try and charge my iphone using my ipod charger it doesnt seem to work. Seems odd to me. Does this mean my iphone is broken, or do i need a special iphone charger?

should be able to use any dock connector to charge, but thats only what i've heard.

DONT charge your iPhone with anything but the iPhone charger. Theiphone only takes 5 volts, while every other ipod takes 10 volts, so you will end up burning out your phone...

USB only puts out 5 volts anyway. The only way your argument would make sense would be if you were talking about firewire. Apple says somewhere on their website that firewire can charge the iPhone (and it certainly works for me). You can charge your iPhone with USB or Firewire, and the accompanying AC adaptor.
