Hi all

I have a apple watch series 5, had it for about a week now. Used to own a apple watch 3 ages ago but went over to android but now I'm back using apple.

Anyway, my charging habit is to charge the watch for 30 mins each morning whilst I shower and get ready for work, this should last me until the next morning where i repeat the charging.

I'm finding it doesn't charge at all when put the watch down to charge. I have a feeling it has to do with the optimised charging feature.

I've just tried switching it off and it charges fine now on demand.

Do I just leave optimised switched off? naturally I want to prolong my battery, but as I'm topping up daily would having this feature on benefit me?

I've read its supposed to learn my charging habits but doesn't seem to be at the moment.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks.

my impression would be as well, that the featured "optimized charging" would be useful for people that place the watch on the charger over the whole night.
As i only put it on the charger while showering etc, i disabled the optimized charging as well and have the impression this is working better for me, as the watch is charging somehwat faster for this 30-45 minutes; when done showering i get the watch back with about 90% battery, wich will help until the next day, including sleep tracking.

Perfect. Thanks for confirming this
