The iPad includes a 10 watt charger. I'm not sure what that means, but I assume it puts out more power than a standard USB port. It does say on Apples website that the iPad will charge on a computer's USB port.

What I am wondering is:

Will the iPad charge faster on it's own charger vs. a computer's USB port?

Will other USB wall or car chargers work with the iPad?

Can a USB Y splitter such as used by portable hard drives, where one plug is data/power and the other is power only work with the iPad to speed up charging?

I don't know if there is enough information on Apples site for anyone to guess at this.

Im kinda wondering the same thing.

I also wonder if their camera kit, that allows you to hook a digital camera to the iPad, couldnt be modified to have a USB port attached instead of the external camera.

Prol too early to tell though.

Eidit:
Just saw the camera kit and THAT aint happinin'.

You can charge the iPad with anything, it will just take a really really long time and may not charge if you're doing something somewhat cpu intensive; the same way a Macbook Air adapter can be used with any Macbook.

I can use my MacBook with my air adapter, but it won't charge the battery.
