Hey, I just got a 13'' black macbook, finally made the switch, and I'm trying to figure out if my battery is normal. I did the whole calibration thing yesterday and today on a full charge my battery lasted around 2:45. I was doing some intensive stuff though (importing a full ipod, things like that), the battery drained to 0 and it took just over 4 hours to fully charge. It was sleeping for pretty much the entire time. So basically how long should it take to charge the macbook from 0 to 100%? and on average use (medium brightness, browsing the net type deal) how long should that charge last?

That seems low for a MacBook, my CD MacBook Pro can outlast the MacBook battery life that you posted. Use coconut battery and see if it shows 100% as the maximum capacity of the battery, if it shows a lot lower than 100% then I suggest taking it to Apple and asking for a replacement battery.

says I've got 94% of the original capacity I'm not worried about that part yet, I have a feeling the battery life was short yesterday because of the amount of work I was doing....my main question is how long should it take to charge from 0 to full

If you have 94% original capacity and JUST got your Macbook, I would go and return it or at least have the battery replaced, since it shouldn't be that low so early.

Battery life also depends upon how bright you have your screen - I can get up to 4 hours with my MacBook Pro with screen brightness just above halfway. And if you had an iPod connected, which would be getting power from the USB port that would seriously drain your battery quicker than normal.

My MBP takes a few hours to charge, sometimes up to 4 hours.
