Cheap 4K Monitor for MacPro (UK)

While waiting for my nMP to arrive I have been working out which way to go for display options.

Now I dont need high refresh rates but need masses of screen real estate

This has just popped up (Argos say they will be in stock from Monday). Seems to be based on the Chinese Panels that have been available in the US Sets for a while

But at £499 for a 39" 4K Screen its got to be worth a punt for the photographers out there.

Looks a lot like that Seiki 39" 4K on Amazon. Probably the same with another branding... Not good enough for photographers. Colors and contrast are pretty crappy since it's a TV basically. Works good for me as long as I don't have to care about correct colours.

Will let you know, I have always found as long as you run a decent calibration tool on the screen then an LCD Monitor/Combined Tv Produce results just as good a stand alone monitor. Its down to calibrating properly for use.

Wont know on this one till stock arrives byt at £499 going to give it a shot and if its CR4P then the sprog gets an UHD TV for her bedroom!

120 Hz! thats what my cheapo BenQ gaming monitor is. The colours could not be calibrated (by eye) to my Dell next to it no matter how hard I tried, spent a whole day at it trying to squeeze out details in an image on both monitors but for games it is superior, that 120Hz makes a huge difference for FPS games as long as you can match the frame rate. Out the box these are calibrated really bad too. The high Hz gaming monitors are also prone to dead pixels, which I knew before buying. I predict you pay for what you get in this case but if screen space and cost is paramount rather then colour correction then it could be a great option. Even as a secondary it would be very useful.

It'll only be 120Hz or below at 1080p I suspect, 30Hz at 4k.

Good to see a <£2000 4k display on sale in the UK though.

Seems to have vanished off their website now!
