Cheap (but good) lightning to USB-C cable

If it’s cheap it’s likely not good. I would suggest spending a little more money and get a brand like Anker. They are one of the best quality non Apple brands.

Because Apple only just opened up the certification for USB-C to Lightning under their MFi program.
Third party USB-C to Lightning cables are expected to arrive mid-2019.
