What cheap games could you recommend for a beginner like me? And what do I have to look at when buying them? I understand you have to have a steam account. Will older games able to play on here. I am taking cheap like
The Darkness II (PC / MAC) - Steam Key [GLOBAL, MULTI-LANG, INSTANT] 99p Max Price £5. Is it better to buy a download version or a physical disc? I would like games like this
Grand Theft Auto V, GTA 5 Premium Edition PC Fast Delivery Epic Games
Would this play on my Mac?

What types of games are you interested in?
Empire building? Unit management? First-person? Single Player? Multiplayer? Simulation?

Steam is a good starting point.
Older games (that are still 32-bits) will not run on Catalina.
Physical disks are awesome, if no verification codes need, worthless if verification codes are required.

'PC' games generally require you to have a Windows licence with Bootcamp or Parallels unless they are WINE friendly.

You need to put Windows on your iMac to get access to most games.

Once you have done that you can play almost anything so long as you’re playing in 1080P and playing on medium to low settings. Some lighter games you will be able to play on higher settings. As a rule of thumb, check the minimum required GPU on a game on the Steam page and google that GPU vs your own to see how your computer compares.

I have been trying to put Windows on an external drive as only have 256 internal drive. No luck on this machine as could not get Win to USB on here. I am going to try to do it on my 2012 Mac Mini as I could get Win to USB on there. I don,t know why I can't get Win to USB on here but I can on my Mini? Can anyone answer that it does not make any sense to me:oops:

It’s been awhile since I installed Windows on one of my Macs but I don’t think there’s any reason it shouldn’t be working.

Have you done all of this?: https://medium.com/@Taig/create-a-bootable-windows-10-usb-from-macos-395773d4782e

Why don’t you just create the Windows installation USB on your Mac Mini then? It doesn’t need to be created on the machine you are installing Windows on. The USB installer can be used to install Windows on anything.

Also, before you go through the trouble, which 2017 iMac do you have? What graphics does it have?

Ok, you will be able to play things comfortably with the 575 in 1080p.

You can format it to MS DOS or exFAT.

thanks for that ,the thing i did was Guid not master boot .i did exfat.
Can i use an ssd rather than a flash drive?or does it have to go on a USB FLASH DRIVE first?
But why dose it say you can,t connect through USB or ieee ? and saying it must be NTFS?i
you can get an app that can make the drive NTFS
But surely i will still get the message about USB OR IEEE?
Should i make the drive NTFS ? or should it work with Master Boo and EXFAT?

You don’t have to make it NTFS because exFAT or MSDOS work.

I tried with VMFUSION when it comes to disconnecting the drive then reconnecting it never reconnects why?
still can,t get the Win to USB ;) I got it when in the windows vm. I see he has it on GUID ,I had it on Master Boot.as in when doing the first way i tried it.This is the last time i am doing this.😯I clik network then eject the drive then reconnect no box comes up asking where i want it to go :rolleyes:I wish some one had a usb flash drive with Windows Bootcamp on so i could buy it.

I’m confused, could you described exactly what steps you have done so far and what step you are on right now?

When I reconnect I click the box that asks me where I want the drive to go I click Windows when I do I can hear it making noises trying to connect but it never does. :(
When I click Mac it connects straight away. I am having another go doing it on my Mac Mini with a USB Flash drive with Bootcamp it can,t be done on the 2017 IMAC
I doubt if it will work. exfat and Master boot record. I am not giving up yet.:) Hope that makes it a bit clearer for you.:)

Ah, I think I understand. Trying again with the Mac Mini is a good idea.

That did not work on here.said the same stuff can,t connect USB and efi boot.Have you any idea why the drive fails to connect to Windows?but has no trouble connecting to the MAC when that box comes up asking where you want to connect.? i will have another go at this way to do it,This way you don,t have to disconnect the drive unlike the way i didd it first on the Mini 3 years ago.when the video is at 8.40 the Win to usb is all white when he drags it in it the couler full ball from the down load folder.I just hope i hall thouse options on USB bluetooth i didn,t last time 9.17 in to the video. MS DOS GUID the he did 3 years ago he did exfat the other thing changed in this video is on the old one you had to go to Disc management delete the volume and make then new simple volume ,i have tried it so many times it is doing my head in why it doesn,t work.:rolleyes:The seconed video is how i done it 3 years ago. I like Jeff,s videos 9 to 5 Mac

:) The first one
I recommened the SMSUNG T5 SSD. :)

I’m not sure, I’ve never had to do it via VMWare. Have you tried just following the instructions Apple gives?
