So I was at Best Buy yesterday just poking around killing time when I went over to their computer section. There I saw a table full of a bunch of different products they had on sale, and I couldn't help but do a double take when I saw this. I pulled out my phone and took a picture (sorry the quality isn't that great). It didn't say anywhere on the table about it being a refurb or an opened product.

Has anyone else seen this? I wonder if it's just a local thing. Seems extremely cheap for a charger with no problems...

so i did a little investigating...

i called the apple store and they confirmed that the new lcd cinema screen is compatible with both the new and old MBA (check out the shape of the adapter - pic attached below)

also...

i went to my local best buy, and they too have discounted their 45w charger. our apple rep there is kind of a pud (quoting bad info from time to time) but he said the new MBA will share the same wattage charger as the MB.

he also indicated that charger are downward compatible, but not upward (ie. you can charge an old MBA with a 60W charger but not a new MBA with a 45W charger).

The tech spec section for the new MBA clearly states that it comes with a 45w charger.

Be careful, the old MBA has a Micro-DVI, and there doesn't appear to be a way to connect it to the Mini DisplayPort connector of the new LCD yet.

when i said compatible i meant in regards to the charger, however the new mba will have a mini displayport.

as for the 45w charger, i just check the apple site and yes, it does clearly state that it is a 45w charger, blowing the apple rep's statement earlier out of the water. hmmm....

just got one as well. although i paid more than 15.49. here in cali most store have them marked down at 25 bucks. there are some stores that have them for 15 buts it wasnt worth the drive for me. i asked if my local store would match their other store price and they said no. something to do with it being a deleted item and the price depended on how many the store had in stock. oh well 25 still isnt bad for it...

Two questions:

1. Why would you need another battery charger?

2. What is the battery life on a 2nd gen MBA?

3 for more enjoyable pleasure of using macbook air.

1 at the office, 1 at the home, all with the switches on/off.

no need ever to being hassled by the charger anymore. makes you just easily grab the air and go.

just came back from best buy... Looks like they bumped up the price to $45. It was $15 last week.
