I was wondering where to unlock my iPhone 5S locked on sprint and wondering which is the best and cheapest place to unlock it at.
Thank You

This question is asked repeatedly here because the resale on Sprint phones is so low, people buy them cheaply believing they can get them unlocked for other US carriers - if you search you will find many existing threads.

If you are tying to unlock it to use on a US GSM carrier, good luck.

Sprint phones can generally only be unlocked for use on International GSM carriers - if that is what you are after, find someone with a Sprint account in good standing who can request it thru Sprint.

For the other, perhaps you can find an after-market vendor.

Actually I'm using it in Canada when I put the sim in it detect the carrier though I can't pass the activation screen that's why I'm trying to unlock it.

If you could help me it would be great

Help. Sure…here it is.

Options.
1. Establish service with Sprint. Pay your bill on time for 90 days, then call and ask for an international unlock.
2. Find an unlock service that does international unlocks (that is the ONLY unlock those services can do). About $150 with wait time.
3. Buy a SIM interposer (R-SIM, Gevey, etc).

That's it. Anything else is fake, a waste of money, or both.

And to reiterate, Sprint never unlocks for domestic US use - ever.

Always saw the most high price whenever tried to find unlock for this carrier.
The best and the most reliable way is to ask Sprint US as most of the third parties offering unlock of this carrier are scam also high priced.

Waste of money, stop buying dirt cheap sprint iphones thinking you can unlock it.

You don't even know how i got the phone. I was buying off of ebay though the seller said Virgin and was shipping in canada so my thought was a canadian provider also named Virgin so I bought a phone thinking as that when I went to get the get the phone it turned to be locked to sprint/virgin usa

Wait ! Sellers on eBay don't say anything !
The description either said Virgin or Sprint.
My money says the description said Sprint since that is what you got !

However, if seller was deceptive, you have a valid dispute.

He said Virgin Mobile nothing else i'll quote it
"Almost perfect ! Works like a charm. Comes with the earpods, lightning cable and the original box. Virgin Mobile"
So I can't tell if its Canada or the one's in Europe or the one in the U.S and I think he stole the phone cause he isn't responding ever since but it hasn't been blacklisted or had a bad esn

"Virgin Mobile USA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sprint Corporation." if you didn't do the research, you screwed yourself. Sprint is Virgin and Virgin is Sprint. Even more reason to investigate before buying. Either way, you said he listed it as Virgin, so why would you expect it to be used on anything besides Virgin? You yourself first said he said it was Sprint, then you said his post said Virgin.

Re-sell it, and start over.

(This is why I don't sell on eBay anymore. I'm guessing you gave him negative feedback for being deceptive in some way. He was completely up front, it was you who didn't do the research to know what you were buying. It's been no secret online about how difficult it is to unlock a Sprint phone, and I have yet to even hear of anyone who's bought and unlocked a Virgin phone)

Yeah, same here. All the MVNOs using Sprint's network have the same problem.

Virgin Mobile
Ting
Boost Mobile
Karma
Freedom Pop
Republic Wireless
Scratch Wireless
Ring Plus Inc
Touch Mobile
TextNow
ChitChat Mobile
Credo Mobile
NET10 wireless
Straight Talk
Voyager Mobile
Red Pocket Mobile
Rok Mobile
Kajeet
Good 2Go Mobile
TotoWireless
Tempo Telecom
Eco Mobile
Expo Mobile
Ready Mobile
Zing PCS

Because they are using Sprint's network, the phone is locked to Sprint. You can shuffle around between the MVNOs because essentially it's only the billing system that has changed.

Though I contacted apple made some bs up saying my phone is locked to wrong carrier they believe it and replacing my iPhone

It says Virgin mobile and the seller is located and ships from the US.
Wouldn't be a good idea to ask first before you buy? Because good chances are if he's in the US and ships from the US its a US virgin phone. Not a Canadian phone.

He was shipping within Canada that's why not from the U.S or I would of knew.

You do realize "virgin mobile" is a global franchise company and yeah, it's your issue when you chose to assume just because something works one way in your country that it'll work this way everywhere.

I bet apple won't replace it. Congrats for scamming them if they do tho.

Oh, if he's from Canada then I see where the mixup is.
I'd get confused too.
He didnt say its virgin mobile USA on his description or anything like that?

Yes, it was easy to mess up and assume its for a Canadian carrier then if he didn't specify in his auction description.

Easier to bury one's head in the sand, then cry victim after not asking then not getting what he thought he was getting. Are we sure this guy isn't really American? HEHE

Look here you guys are hating in the end it worked really well I got a unlocked iPhone 5s with extended warranty for 0$ more so the jokes on you kids
