cheap smartphone, android vs win 8.1

so I had a water accident with my smartphone
As I am a bit clumsy I am looking for a cheap smartphone. I am in doubt between an android or a windows phone. Windows phones seem to be cheaper having 8 GB place but no front camera. Android at that price seems to have only 4 GB. Then again my phone carrier has an app on android allowing me to call cheaper and not on windows phone. But the app needs a good wifi and wifi sucked on my android and not on my windows phone. So I am in doubt between nokia lumina 630 [119 euro] and arches 50b oxygen [149 euro]. Both have 8GB btw but perhaps other cheap androids are better.

yes but it is 199 euro
For the processor I do not know but the archos seems to have similar specs

I did like my huawei ascend w2
stable wifi
Shame my phone carrier does not provide the app on wp

The Moto G actually has the better CPU I believe. Most of the other specs are comparable but I think you will have a much better experience and support from the Moto G.

The Moto G is infinitely more preferable to the Archos

Amazon had the Moto G 8gb for £139 which is €175

For that you are getting the best mid level performing but budget priced android handset, and one that is already receiving Android lollipop.

8gb may not seem a lot but with microsd card slot and lollipop restoring full functionality to it you can easily get away with the 8gb model.

Performance on the G is surprisingly robust too.

Archos support for its devices sucks both software and hardware wise.

The Lumia 630 is a superb device for the price point it offers and to get WP 8.1 on it.

I just bought a Lumia 530 for £30 (about $50USD) and it's great. Doesn't do EVERYthing my iPhone does (missing a few apps, iTunes match and a flash for the camera) but I'm very impressed with the OS. The more I use it the more I like it.

Well the store was crowded with people so I grabbed a lumia 630 for 119 euro
There were so many android devices I could not choose
The motorola G was not available
