Hey guys,
This is my first thread on a non BMW (my car) or Audi (gf's car) forum, but for the first time in a long time I need help with my computer. Ironic given that's how I make my living. Now that I am 20, my technological needs have changed and I have decided I now have enough media where I want high speed wireless storage. So here's my current setup:

8TB drive hooked up to Airport Extreme (doesn't need to get any faster):
-stores many movies and old FCP projects that I only keep for if I was ever required to fork up original footage

1TB external hard drive:
-Filled to the brim with backups. My backups tend to be around 15GB and I back up every 2 weeks. I'd like to make this wireless.

128GB external USB:
-80GB full of photos as large as 40MB

400GB (partition) SSD in my 15'MBP:
-165GB of current film projects over 10 months, because I procrastinate
-25GB VM that allows me to program my car
-37GB system

Now I would hook this all up to my airport extreme but that has USB 2 and can't really handle anything beyond the tasks I'm giving it. Now that my 2012 MBP committed suicide and I grabbed a 2015, everything I own supports 802.11 ac which supports up to a theoretical 1 gigabit per second.

The dream would be to be able to keep all this data (excluding my film projects because I know that's asking too much) wirelessly accessible on fast storage. At least a dependable 50Mb/s, hopefully 80. I suspect I'll need additional hardware. I'm suspecting some mini computer that supports USB 3, and then Ethernet that into my Airport. If it changes anything, I'd probably move the contents of my USB to the 8TB drive. Let me know what you guys would do!

Most newer wireless routers have two or three usb 3 ports. I have the ASUS AC 5300 router. Replaced an AirPort Extreme.

With a 2015 mbp using 802.11ac on a 5ghz channel it will be very fast. Mine only has one usb 3 port, but others have more.

I have a qnap nas plugged into the router. It uses two of the routers Ethernet connections for double the speed. The nas actually is like a mini computer, and has three more USB ports for external drives. Best part is i can access all my files when away from home. If you get a four bay nas and set it up with raid 1, you can have backups of your backups.

Networking is the part I'm fuzzy on. Is there a way to do this without buying another router let alone a $200+ one? I really only need 1 or 2 USB's. How can you connect away from home? It's given it's own IP? I know the Airport Extreme doesn't allow that flexibility.
