Check if your MBA is flickering on this website: http://maiko.ne.jp
Tried from different MBA's, but the green background is flickering. Also, tried on MBP 13 inch - NO FLICKERING... What it could be?

It has to do with different patterns of pixels and how the screen reacts to them. You can goto http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ and run the "Inversion - pixel walk" test to see which patterns your LCD is sensitive too. A high quality screen shouldn't be affected by any.

I tried it on my other computer. I think the green background on the sides flicker because of the design. Almost looks like a bunch of small dots. And when you scroll it appears like its flickering on your screen but its actually not cause of your screen... kinda like an optical illusion lol.
That would be my guess, or a really good way to deny anything wrong with the laptop screen lol

It flickers on my 11" MBA, whether scrolling or stationary. I've noticed things like this on other websites before with different laptops, and I definitely think it's something to do with the way the green background is displayed as mentioned by Poisoned1 and CubeHacker.

For those curious, this is a website for a traditional tea shop in Kyoto.

Big time flicker on my 11.6 MBA. My MBA has a panel type 9CF2, which in my opinion is inferior to the panel type 9CF3 used on other 11.6 MBAs.

I'd be curious to learn which panel type is used on those 11.6 MBAs that do not flicker on this webpage.

how can I know which panel type my MBA has?

Doesn't seem to flicker on my 2010 MBP. I get severe flickering though, if I look at the following solid color image in full-screen on full brightness...
