Is there a reputable Web site or Mac app that can run and identify any dead links I have in my Safari favorites? There seem to be a lot of solutions but many are for checking for dead links as a web master on your site, plus I don't know which ones are reputable. Thanks!

I’d love that utility but it’s challenging.. because not every dead link will simply 404, many will 302 redirect elsewhere, and those redirects may go where you want and they may not... pretty much a human job at that point.
You can speed up the process by opening the favourites folders all at once in a new safari window. Then just skim all the tabs to see what’s what.

If you know how to create a free website somewhere you could just make a webpage of the HTML that results from a Safari bookmarks export and use an online checker such as brokenllinkcheck.com.

great idea, but only one 'l' in brokenlinkcheck.com (just mentioning!)

EDIT: did not seem to work for me. did exactly what you suggested, found 3 ''missing' links (subsets of the site i used to try this); then i opened my bookmarks in safari, and found 2 real links that are dead.

EDIT2: just found this, free on the app store: integrity , and it works... links in the app listed in red were all dead, and now, deleted 👍
