Check off Finished Event in Calendar

Is there a way to check off finished event in the Calendar app so it goes away? I use Calendar for my to do's instead of Reminder, and i'd like to check it off. Thanks!

BusyCal incorporates tasks into the calendar and would get you close to what you are after. Nor cheap though.
