Was doing some reading on govt tapping phones/turning the mic/camera on when the phone has been turned off the standard way. Also how hackers send messages that install malware.

Are there any ways or software programs to run that can check either of these? I do t suspect my phone has been infected with anything but it's interesting

It's not Android to check that using apps. Maybe when you jailbreak you can check background activity, network and daemons. Otherwise iOS is secure enough to not have these problems. All because only system apps can read most of things. Apps can't read other app data.

Hi
Norton 3.0 have an antivirus app for android but not for iphone.
My view on this is because there is no need.
Relax and enjoy iOS, no one is snooping.

This is what I thought but it's not very likely efforts to surveil end when the phone software turns out to be iOS..

Unless you are a hardened criminal you have nothing to fear.
Relax and enjoy your holiday.

Or you need to because of surveillance and need to communicate with others. Most governments are not benign. Espionage, intellectual property, reporters... and what happened to the secure in your home and papers.

And what are you checking for in iOS exactly?

That's only a problem for Android phones, or older iPhones. The govt hacked an iPhone 5, but they had physical possession of the device, and had to contract the job out to the Israelis.

Well, unless some malicious app has uses the Apple API and you allow it to access your Camera, you're fine
