I'm backing up many terabytes of data and am paranoid about bit rot. I figure regularly comparing the files' checksums is the best way to detect this. Are there any utilities that can easily record and compare the checksums for tens, or even hundreds, of thousands of files? Or should I do it per folder and then drill down where necessary?
