This is more physics-ish than chem... correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe this is some elementary particle being smashed. In any case it looks nifty 
unless it's just the natural etching that occurs on a copper plate or something... I really don't know. Just found it in my wallpaper folder

its the smashing of an elementary particle in a bubble chamber. the lines you see are tiny pieces of the particle (quarks etc?) as they decay and move about in pure nuclear fashion. the odd coloring is false.

This wallpaper is definitely my favorite one. Do you know where I can get a higher resolution version?
I could maybe e-mail you the original in an attachment? I don't know if photobucket scaled it down at all. I'm not on my laptop right now, though. I do know that my friend gets most of his wallpapers off of 4chan : P

mycupoftea, this forum allows quite a generous amount for attachments, if you don't mind, might you just attach them to a post here? It may make matters a lot easier and others who don't feel like PMing and emailing for it can still get them.
