Chicago Sun-Times: Iphone "truly does run Leopard"

I hope this hasn't been posted yet (didn't see it), but here is an interesting article with regards to the iPhone. The author spent 45 minutes playing with it and states that it actually runs Leopard. Lots of other great info in here as well, check it out:

Interesting article.

You can run linux on an iPod so I have no doubt about running OSX on an iPhone. It obviously has to be stripped down some because of storage space and RAM on the phone.

So will it run Mac software? Nope. The iPhone runs OS X, but it's an iPhone, not a Macintosh. And it stands to reason that the OS on the iPhone doesn't include any bits that it doesn't need.

And no, the iPhone's Widgets aren't the same as the Mac's Dashboard widgets.

Ok, so it runs the same Mac OS that the Macs run, not a stripped down OS but yet can't run mac software because... its... a stripped down Mac OS...

And all of this based on "trust me, I know a guy."
