Chip in glass behind screen, day 14, what if they only replace the glass but get dust

So there is a small chip behind the glass of my 27" imac. It's about the size of a small crumb or the eye of a small needle. It's hard to see, but it's definitely there.

Today is my last day to get the imac replaced or repaired. I have a feeling if I bring it in that they will see there's no reason to swap out the entire imac, and if there is I would have to wait awhile because it's a custom high end one so they don't have the specs.

I'm worried if they swap the glass that it's just some 19 year old kid that does it and he won't be careful with the screen and will get dust, finger prints, etc. on the glass making it worse.

Is it worth going through all this trouble and risking a worse screen for a pristine screen? If they do screw up and it's post 14 days, will they still replace it?

Well first of all maybe take the glass panel off very carefully, to see if it isn't something that's removable. Blow some canned air in there to see if it goes away.
If it really is a chip, get it replaced. I don't think you'll have smudges on the glass when you get it back, since they'll most likely clean it before putting it back in place. If there's any dust behind the glass when you get it back (which I highly doubt), remove it with the power of air. I think the chip would bug you for the rest of your iMac's life.

There are no 19 year old geniuses. Most if not all are college educated. Beside the point, take the iMac in, be patient, nice, and honest, and see what solution they come up with for you.

Do it your self, it isn't hard to lift off the glass.

If you do not want to do that, bring it in for repair and ask if they can do it while you're waiting - shouldn't be impossible.
