Im getting an AW3 SS-BK and wish to use nothing but the initial band until next Christmas. Which would you choose, the Sports Band or the Milanese? The issue isn’t the $50 it would cost to have both, it’s the principle of limiting an indulgence to one thing at a time - an example for my kids.

I’m not a runner nor a gym rat and will want something comfortable for long days.

Led Zeppelin.

No, no, the Grateful Dead.

Aw, crap.

Bob Dylan?

Oh, and the black sports band. ;)

If you’re not working out then go Milanese, it’s more flexible.... looks good when you are dressed down in jeans but also if you dress up for a night on the town or event/work

Yep. Nothing more comfortable than the sports band. I bought the S2SS with Milanese and rarely wear that band. Plus it requires greater care and over a year I would think requires several cleanings. Plus, $150.

Plus I figured out too late I could have saved the $150, gotten sports band and then paid same $150 for Milanese if I wanted and had both. Free sports band at $49 essentially.

I’d love to save money and get an aluminum watch but I’m really hard on things. I have a Sector watch from 1996 - the stainless is scratched to hell but the sapphire crystal is pristine.

The Stainless Steel only comes with either white sport band or Milanese loop. The SS can be polished and most if not all scratches will come out. When the aluminum scratches, you just have to live with it.

Since my initial post I’ve talked myself into wireless earphones so will save a few bucks on the watch and go for the sports band.

Thanks
Excellent decision.
No idea how people run around with wired headphones.

I’ll get the black watch w/the black sports band. I don’t actually mind the scratches on my Sector as it doesn’t have the same sort of body that the AW does. The crystal is what matters to me.

sport loop or woven nylon ... both these bands are lightweight, breathable, and comfortable.

I don’t really know how people are scratching their aluminum watches. I’m super clumsy and break iPhones right and left but never saw a noticeable scratch on my series 1.

The Milanese pulls the hairs on my arms! Link bracelet for me every day. I love the look and feel.
I’ve got a fair amount of fine hair that a good old fashioned 1978 twist-o-flex would catch from time to time.

Am considering getting DW an AW for Xmas in which case I’ll get her a Milanese and me a sport loop. (A 38mm silver comes in a lot less than a 42mm Black). We can try each others and know for sure. I️ think there’s a 50% chance she’ll want to return hers but it’s worth it for the testing.

I love the Milanese band, looks great, I don’t sweat under it like I do the sports band and it’s so easy to put on and take off. I have a copy, my partner has the original (you can’t tell them apart).

I like the old sports band fine and have a bunch of knock off ones, in addition to an original. They’re very comfortable. But I will say I like the new sports band with the holes and the sports loop even better, in terms of comfort.
