There isn't a way to do this I'm afraid.

Photo Stream only adds photos from your Camera Roll, so other than taking a screenshot of an existing photo there isn't a way.

Remember though, Photo Stream only keeps photos for 30 days or up to 1000 photos.

So after a while, whatever you wanted to manually go there, would disappear again.

Think of Photo Stream as a backup until you get to a computer to then arrange your photos into albums and folders.

ok I wanted to use as a quick way to copy a photo to my mac. Sometimes I just dont have the cable next to me and I just want one photo. Usually I then just send the photo via mail

thanks

You can email a photo from any album. Even multiple photos.

If it's a photo you've just taken, that should go to Photo Stream no problem. For me, I've got iPhoto updating so as soon as I take a photo on the iPhone, it's in iPhoto on my mac!

If you want to do a photo from another folder, as you said you could email it. Or use a service like Dropbox which lets you upload a photo from your iPhone and it uploads to your computer... Probably just as quick to email it though!

Photostream has such ridiculous limitations, I feel the idea is great but it's more or less half baked. We should be able to, at the very least, choose what we want on photostream. Hopefully this changes...

Or even if there was a secondary Photo Stream to share/save.

It's worse when every photo you take syncs to your Apple TV as your screen saver.

If you think of Photo Stream as JUST a backup until you are able to organise your photos yourself, then it's a pretty handy addition to the service!
