Hello guys. I am a new member here. I have some thoughts about a new iPhone. I have now an OnePlus 6T (I had an iPhone X but I sold it to buy the current device). I have also MacBook Pro and an iPad Air 3. One thought is to buy the new iPhone SE (2020) combined with an Apple Watch 5 in order to save money and have good devices. Butttt, I am thinking about the screen size of the SE. From 6.4 to 4.7. Some friends told me that the size is not a problem because I have the iPad, so I will separate the tasks. Also, what about battery life? I know, it will not be amazing but do you believe that the apple watch will help me to use less the phone? My OnePlus now after 1.5 years has 5-6 hours SOT. Thank you for your time and sorry for my bad English! I am from Greece. 😁😁😁😁

If money isn't a major factor in the decision I'd choose the XR or 11 just because of battery and screen size. Going from 6.4 to 4.7 is a big jump especially if your use to a larger screen

iPhone 11. Get a cool color to differentiate yourself from the typical black or white phones you may have had in the past. Enjoy.

Apple tried that strategy between 2010-2013 by selling small iPhones with large iPads. It didn't work because most consumers prefer to use a single large device. As a result, Apple introduced 4.7" and 5.5".

Also, what about battery life? I know, it will not be amazing but do you believe that the apple watch will help me to use less the phone?

Not by an appreciable amount.

Thank you for the response. I have the same thoughts. On the other hand money is a big factor! What about Apple watch? Could help me to use less my phone in order to save battery life? 😁

Yeah. I understand. I asked because I read some posts and articles that said about the relationship between the watch and phone. iPhone addiction etc...

About the size, you are right. You are the first who said me that about apple’s strategy, but it sounds correct.

This is the best choice. I know that but unfortunately iPhone 11 is so expensive for me.

If you want an Apple Watch to decrease your phone usage, it's not going to, not much in my experience anyway. I have an Apple Watch (Series 2) and only use it to do quick reply for messages. Otherwise, I use it for time/alarm (obviously LOL) and for the activity rings mostly. What things do you do in your phone that you can do with the watch instead? If you have a lot of those things, then SE 2020 + Apple Watch S5 is a good combination. But you could also do an XR + Apple Watch S3 combination for about the same amount, especially if you think you will the bigger screen size but still want an Apple Watch.

With Watch I will check my notifications, my calls etc without using my phone. This is the way that I will use it. Now I have the phone for everything. Could this plan work??? 🤔🤔🤔Thank you for the respone 😁😁😁

Jumping into the Apple eco system with both feet huh lol.

4.7" will feel tiny going from a 6.4". Not to mention the huge bezels will really stand out. I think the best option for a bit more $ would be the XR.

Haha lol. To be honest I have a MacBook Pro, AirPods, iPad air 3 and Apple TV. So what should I buy??? A phone and a watch 😂😂😂. I know about the size. Maybe it’s better to go to a store and try both of them.

You nailed it w/ that last sentence.

Good call. I used to have a 6S Plus, but I like the size of the 7/8/SE so much more. I'm now sporting the new SE2 and love it. However, I'm also a home button hold-out and wouldn't even consider a different phone like the 11 or XR.

All that said, if you don't care if you have a home button or not, the XR might be a good choice due to the larger screen size compared to the SE2 and lower cost compared to the 11. But just like you said...go try them out if you have a store nearby.

That’s not going to make you use the phone less. Replying to messages is slow unless you use dictation every time. Having phone calls will drain your battery. You will also need Bluetooth headphones to talk because it will be hard to hear.
