Hi,

I want to start a fresh Apple-ID for my iPhone, iPad and new iMac. I have nothing to loose on my current ID so there are no problem for me to start all over. My question is, should I make a new Apple-ID based solely on a @icloud.com address, or should I use my current email address (which is not Apple), and add a icloud email on top? I do not intend to use the icloud email at all but I belive I need an icloud email to push notes.

What is your opinion? Thanks!

Create an icloud.com ID and use that for your Apple ID. You'll get some email there, like receipts for purchases from iTunes. It will net you the best benefits for iCloud services. And I like the idea that my general email address is not associated with cloud services for a little extra security.

Well if you already have an iCloud account log into the Apple site My Apple ID and see the email address tied to your account and also create Aliases.

just an FYI for you...you can have separate iTunes store account and iCloud accounts. So if you want to still use your old account for iTunes purchases you can. You can then create a new iCloud account to use for notes and iCloud backup. Just wanted to let you know as some people don't know this and create new ID's bc they want to change something small.
