Hello,

I have a Late 2009 Mac Mini, 2.53GHz, 4GB RAM.

I have been experiencing choppy 1080p video when i use QuickTime and it get even worse in fullscreen.

With VLC i don't experiencing this problem.

Clips for testing download from Apple trailers and Demo-World

H.264, 1,920 x 800
AAC, 48000 Hz, Stereo (L R)

Is this normal for the late 2009 model?

If it's a 2009 Mac Mini, then in Snow Leopard + you should be using the nVidia 9400m for hardware decoding.

Are you running Leopard or Snow Leopard/Lion? That might be the issue.

I'm using Lion but that was the case in Snow Leopard also.

I have an early 2009 Mac Mini and have never had an issue playing 1080p sources via quicktime. They should operate very similarly.

I have the same Mini and the problem, so I don't use quicktime. As the other poster said, use VLC or another program that works without problems. Another program that works is MPEG Streamclip.

I then rest my case. Cheers for your comments.
