I was wondering what version of Chrome would best be suited for Mavericks 10.9.5? Should I download the latest version? Will it cause any conflicts? Or is there a preferred version of Chrome for Mavericks 10.9.5?

What version of Chrome is the current one you are referring to?
[doublepost=1507937227][/doublepost]Also, I'm wondering if Firefox would be a better choice over Chrome as a browser?

61. I don't use it myself so I don't know how it compares with Firefox.

Version 66.0.3359.181 (Official Build) (64-bit)

And weirdly right after I checked that, it restarted Chrome and now states:
Google Chrome is up to date
Version 67.0.3396.79 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Same thing happened to me on OSX 10.9.5

For months, had a warning saying 'This computer will no longer receive Google Chrome updates etc etc.. and today I when checked, the Chrome version says:

Google Chrome is up to date
Version 67.0.3396.87 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Is this a a real latest version or just a version display glitch?
